Team Morale

The most important new feature in Kick it out! 5.0 will be team morale.

Team morale is a value from -10 to +10 and describes the morale, motivation, harmony in your whole team.

Morale is not a strength boost. If your team has strength 99, it will still have strength 99 even if it has morale +10. But in the matches, your strikers will shoot more often, your goalie will have better saves and so on.

Of course morale changes due to certain events:

  • morale is increased slowly over time as long as it is below zero, and it falls slowly over time as long as it is over zero. This way, no team can retain a morale of say +10 for a whole season too easy.
  • -2 when you loose with 4 or more goals difference, -4 for 8 or more goals difference, this is halved in friendly matches since dec, 21st
  • +1 if you win a league match against a team which is better than yours in the table
  • -1 if you win a league match against a team which is worse than yours in the table
  • +1 if you win any tournament
  • +10 for winning a championship or qualifying for a higher league
  • -10 for being relegated
  • whenever a player plays in a lower class tournament (i.e. a platinum player in a Amateur Cup), a -1 morale can happen. The more you do this, and the more players do, the more it will happen.
  • If you have mascots and superstitious players, after a won match sometimes a dialog pops up which gives you 10 seconds to tap a certain button. If you do, you get +1 morale. The more superstitious players played, the more likely this is.
  • The new Motivator specialist has a button which gives +1 morale once a day if you press it.
  • -5 if a motivator leaves the team (transfer, kicked, resigning).

You see that team morale adds a whole new game dimension to Kick it out. Because it was inspired by the community, and it just rewards activity and skillful play, it’s a very fair feature. You cannot buy +10 morale as an item for real money. In a league season, 16 teams might all have strength 99 and specialist rating 4 or 5, and play the same formation – but the will never all have +10 morale. So morale reduces the influence of the random generator and it really makes a difference if you only join a league on sunday and then on friday just check how you played, or if you improve your morale just before the six league matches start or even in between.

We are sure that you’ll like it.

Kick it out 5 free to play

Time to announce the most important change in Kick it out 5.

The game will be free to play completely. This means that any team will be allowed to join the leagues, even if they do not have coach or scout.

Furthermore, coach and scout will be available in the ingame shop for ingame cash (and upkeep cost). The paid Coach and Scout Packs will be removed.

This way we give more managers access to the most exciting game features–the leagues, the coach’s formations and the auctions via the scout.

Preview: Rare Items

Kick it out! 5 will bring a brand new class of items: Rare Items. They can be found inside one of these:

Yes, that’s a treasure chest. You will get one of them in each Season Pack when KiO 5 is out, and if you win certain specials or challenges. They are really rare!

Chests work very much like presents or surprises. You activate them and get an item. In this case, a Rare Item. Rare items are powerful and do things no other item in the game can do.

Rock Concert: Activate to have a music event in your stadium! You get a share of entry fees and  prestige

Concentrated Feed: Activate to open. When activated, player improvement propability during matches is increased for 12 hours

Enlightenment: Activate to increase strength max and strength of a random superstitious player by 1.

During special events, those rare items will also be available for free and not only in the Season Pack.

Compensation for player chaos

On friday, some players have been moved accidentally from one team to another. Unfortunately, we have to admit that it is impossible to repair each of this faults.

As compensation, each league participant automatically gets one free platinum specialist contract just before the first match day of the new season.

We apologize for this severe error and can inform you that measures have been taken to make it impossible that it happens again.

Preview: 4-2-3-1 learns counter attacks

We understand that many of you don’t like the counter formation 5-4-1. Propably mostly you don’t like losing against it.

Furthermore, 4-2-3-1 is being played less than in reality. We are going to change this.

4-2-3-1 will get a counter attack propability lower than 5-4-1 but larger than the other formations starting next season. This means that 4-2-3-1 is versatile and can score with counter attacks but also by other means like before.

Additionally, we tweak counters to work in a more realistic way. If you are leading, your team will start less counter attacks, and if your opponent scores the first goal, they will play more secure resulting in quite a problem for 5-4-1 but not for 4-2-3-1.

We are sure that this changes will further improve the tactics experience in Kick it out.

Update July

Kick it out! update July brings the following changes on the last sunday of july:

1. Opponent’s coach actions become visible before the match starts. If a team activates the first CA less than 30 seconds before kick off, the match is postponed by some seconds so the opponent can see the coach action and react if he wants. This should further increase the acceptance of coach actions.

2. New coach action: LONG SHOTS +50% shots of Offensive Midfield players, -50% possession on forward positions, cost 2 coach action points, needs 0 coach experience points. This CA does work perfectly against counter attack tactics because it causes less counter attacks and allows more shots (but with less strength than attackers). Also note that the more OM you have, the better: 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3 allow for 3 resp 4 OM players which can cause a significant increase of goal shots.

Note that the new coach action has been developed together with the community on our forum, and is the winner of a voting.

Have fun with the latest update!
