The big KiO survey 2025 is over! Here are YOUR results, YOUR wishes, which we will implement in the coming months.
First of all, we can’t do everything at once, so we’ll be spreading the changes you voted for over the next few months. It may also seem arbitrary to set the boundary between ‘we won’t do’ and ‘we will do’ at 2.5 stars (for this time). But: It was not to be expected that any suggestion would receive the maximum of 5 stars (or even 4) from all managers or the minimum of 1. Opinions, wishes and playing styles are too different for that. That’s why we endeavour to do justice to your wishes, but not everything is possible. Not now. Of course there will be another survey like this next year.
The most important and most urgent changes are far-reaching changes to the clan championship. That’s why I’m mentioning the average ratings related to it first:
Clan Championship is perfect as it is: 2.26 stars. We interpret this as ‘NO, there is room for improvement’.
Introduce a clan size limit of 10: 2.80 stars. We interpret this as ‘YES, clans should not win CM based on size alone.’ BUT we do not want to force any clan to kick out members who are good friends. Therefore, we will consider the desired limitation ‘only’ in the new CM mode, but won’t introduce a ‚hard‘ limit. For now.
Only Super Clan Cups should count for the Clan Championship: 1.96 stars. That’s a clear NO from you.
Clan Championship with new Saturday tournament with max. 3 teams per clan: 2.73 stars. We’ll take that as a ‘YES, let’s give it a try’. In other words, it’s not a proposal that’s enthusiastically received by everyone. But there is enough approval to give it a try – we say this quite explicitly with this caveat: we’ll try it out and if there is only negative feedback after a few weeks, we’ll have to think again. On the other hand, we are confident that a big, exciting Saturday tournament at the end would be a real improvement. We are therefore introducing such a tournament, namely the Clan Champion Finals Tournament, in which some representatives of the best clans of the season compete for the title every Saturday evening. We’ve been discussing the details for a while now, as a positive vote in favour of this option has emerged, but we’re not quite through with it yet. That’s why we’ll be presenting the exact plan in a separate news item shortly. The first new finals tournament will take place on 7 June, which means that the Clan Championship in season 761 will be the last one to be decided in the old way.
Clan Championship should be abolished: 2.38 stars. We interpret this rating as an urgent order to change something, and I don’t think anyone is surprised about that. On the other hand, there are certainly enough managers who will get involved with the new mode and hopefully find it exciting. That’s why we won’t be abolishing the CM at this point in time.
Now to the other topics:
More strong limited specialists: 2.60 stars. Starting in June, we will be bringing out a new limited edition specialist every month, preferably one that is at least as good as the existing ones. The June specialist is an international playmaker, i.e. a playmaker who simultaneously receives +1 strength for every other nationality in the line-up (i.e. a maximum of +10). We are curious to see what you make of this concept.
Rock-paper-scissors system remains the biggest influence: 3.78 stars. This means that there is obviously no majority in favour of weakening the RPS system. Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to point out that only the very strong rock-paper-scissors system is responsible for the fact that you sometimes lose to a team that unexpectedly changes tactics, and that this is the only reason why undetectable tendency manipulation by secretly agreeing on tactics is possible. You voted in favour of the strong RPS anyway, so let’s keep it that way – along with the unavoidable disadvantages. However, we are endeavouring to make strength differences important again in the medium term (see below) – perhaps there will then be a majority in favour of a weaker RPS somewhat later.
More nation specials, e.g. Brazil: 2.29 stars. It seems that there are enough nation specials at the moment. We will not add any new ones for the time being in line with this vote.
New nation ranking each season: 2.94 stars. You seem to like this idea, so we will implement it in an upcoming update. We ask for your patience.
Opponent line-up visible in the match report?: 3.74 stars. We’re actually a little surprised that this suggestion has received such a high rating, but it’s actually overdue. After all, the opponent’s line-up should not be a ‘trade secret’ when 70000 fans in the stadium see it, and above all: when unfair self-deprecation can be disguised by secrecy. It may be that inexperienced managers can learn something from a strong line-up. But they would still have to buy the necessary strong players before they can simply copy them. Therefore: Yes, we will make line-ups visible in an upcoming update.
Strong players must be rarer so that differences in strength become more important: 3.00 stars. We will take this clear vote together with the next point:
Introduce very rare players with base strength above 100: 3.00 stars. This proposal is also a mandate from you to us. We will therefore be introducing a new player category this summer – the ‘Titans’ – who will initially be available via the transfer list with a maximum strength of 105. Naturally at correspondingly exorbitant salaries and prices with reverse auctions, so that you will be faced with the exciting question: to buy or not to buy? It is, of course, not the intention that all top teams will immediately send 11 or even more 105s onto the pitch. It is INTENTIONAL that these players are rare, expensive and difficult to get. More detailed information on this will be provided shortly, as this innovation (after the changed Clan Championship) will be the first that we tackle.
We are delighted that so many of you took part in our survey, submitting well over 200 response forms and using the opportunity to help shape the future direction of our game. Of course, not everyone will be happy with every measure we take. But you can see that we are really endeavouring to involve you more than many other game providers. You are still very welcome to submit suggestions (including detailed suggestions for the implementation of the planned innovations), because Kick it out is YOUR game. We want as many people as possible to enjoy it, and now the path to this goal has been mapped out and the ball is in our court. With this in mind: Thank you for taking part in our survey and …
see you on the pitch!
