The new tournament will decide the Clan Championship, with the winning team receiving 5000 clan ranking points and thus securing the CM title. Here are the details we have decided on after careful consideration:
- The tournament will start at 10 p.m. CEST and replace the last Clan Cup on Saturday.
- The tournament format is knockout with rematches and 32 participants, i.e. 5 rounds or 10 games.
- All clans in the top 10 of the clan ranking are eligible to participate (those who do not make an effort during the week will be excluded).
- A maximum of three teams per clan may participate (a total of 30, so no clan has an advantage solely due to its size).
- Only teams with at least clanscore 100 are eligible to participate.
- Before the first round, opponents are sorted according to clanscores, i.e. the team with the most points plays against the team with the fewest points, and so on (so that it matters whether you have earned 100 or 300 ranking points during the season). The team with fewer points has home advantage in the first leg.
We will run the CM in this mode for a few seasons and are looking forward to your feedback. Is the CM more exciting and varied, but still challenging? Or can underdogs constantly win the CM? Is the CMC still necessary when there is a grand final tournament in which every committed clan has a chance?
We are sure that the new tournament will be an exciting conclusion to each season. With the right quality and a little luck, one of three teams will shoot their clan to the championship. Who will be the first to do so? We are very excited and wish you lots of fun and success!
