Small adjustments to the Clan Championship

We are pleased that our fundamental changes to the Clan Championship mode have been almost universally well received.

Nevertheless, we have identified a few areas where we can and should make improvements. Therefore, the following changes will apply from the start of the current season:

  1. The joint performance of the clans during the week should be rewarded more than just through the seedings in the final tournament. That is why there is a new distribution key for the starting places in the final tournament. This also has the advantage that (if all qualified teams participate) there will be no more bots in the final tournament at all, because we are allocating a total of exactly 32 starting places. The key is such that there are 6 starting places for 1st place in the clan points ranking, 5 for 2nd place and 4 for 3rd place. Places 4-6 will receive 3 starting places each, as before, and places 7-10 will only receive 2. The number of starting places appears in the clan ranking list. It is therefore now more worthwhile to achieve the best possible ranking (Note: At the beginning of the week, it will still say 3@F, i.e. ‘3 in the final’, but this will be adjusted during the week).
  2. The minimum score of 100 for teams to participate in the final tournament no longer applies. Instead, all clan members who are in the top 7 of their clan’s ranking are eligible to participate. We want to enable clans to make use of all the starting places they have earned, which previously sometimes only one team with 100 points could fill. It is in the clan’s natural interest to have the strongest teams participate in the final, but if the strongest team is unable to participate, all starting places should still be used.
  3. We are shortening the registration period for the final tournament so that no team from a clan that drops out of the top 10 before the start of the tournament can register (this happened last Saturday).

We look forward to many exciting final tournaments!
